Wheels and Vines
To help find accommodation in and around Martinborough we have put some information at the bottom of the "Ride Info" page.
Results from last year can be found on the "history" page under "2017"
The charity we have chosen for the 2018 ride is the Wairarapa Whanau Trust, and in particular helping build its youth facility in Featherston.
The 2018 Ride
As usual the 2018 ride will be the last Sunday in October - the 28th.
There will again be 3 rides - 48km, 67km and 115km. Same routes as in previous years. All rides start at Martinborough.
The 48km ride is a loop of Longbush Rd, Millars Rd to Ponatahi and back to Martinborough.
The 67km ride goes along Longbush Rd to Gladstone, across to Carters Line, Ponatahi and home.
The 115km ride is the 67km loop first, followed by the 48km loop.
E bikes welcome!! Over $4,000 worth of spot prizes!
Please make sure that you look closely at the map of the course to ensure you know what your chosen route is and where you should be going
The base for the event is to again be the Martinborough Rugby Club on the corner of New York St and Regent St. All rides will start and finish there, with the lunch and prize-giving also there.
We will again be selling the MCFR jerseys through this web site and at the ride itself. Fantastic Buying and a great jersey - see the Merchandise tab above.
A coffee cart has been booked for the day and ride sponsor Cycle Science will again be there with riding equipment for sale and a bike mechanic.
There will be plenty of loos available. Note that there are more loos across the grounds towards New York St in that lonely building!
Lunch is provided. Riders who come in after the caterer has left can still get a lunch by coming into the hall and to the kitchen. We will also be keeping prizes for late finishers if you are on the winners list.
